FRED BYE Obituary

Fred A. Bye, Jr. Of Avondale, PA, passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 26, 2005.

He was the husband of Bertha Hart Bye, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.

Born in Hockessin, DE area, he was the son of the late Fred A Bye, Sr. and Florence Ford Bye.

Fred was a machine operator at the NVF Company in Yorklyn, DE, retiring in 1983 after 37 years of service.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean conflict.

He was a loving husband and father, who enjoyed being with his grandchildren.

He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a true sportsman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 son, Robert H. Bye of Elkton, MD; 1 daughter, Faye A. Massey and her husband, Ben of Mount Union, PA; 1 step-daughter, Fay Jane Lewis and her husband, Earl of Noxin, MT; 1 brother, William H. Bye of Avondale, PA; 2 sisters, Anna Destafney of Avondale, PA and Hazel Springer of West Grove, PA; 22 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Fred A. Bye, III, and Thomas L. Bye.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Graveside service at 11:00 on Wednesday morning, March 30, 2005, at the Hockessin Friends Cemetery, Old Wilmington Road, Hockessin, DE.
